The thesis
Numbers went free. Reasons did not.
The raw number costs nothing now. Anyone can read the current price of an event contract, and every serious system already does. What no feed carries is the reason: whether a change carries information or is money moving, and whether the market has under or over reacted to it.
Producing that answer needs a labelled history of what followed changes like this one, from sources like this one, on questions like this one. For equities that history exists and has been sold for decades. For event contracts nobody was recording it, so we started recording it, one book at a time, beginning with prediction markets.
The engine does not care what the number measures. Watch the sources, catch the move that matters, attach the cause, judge the reaction, publish one event. A new book is registry entries plus sources, validating against the same envelope, so the handler you wrote for the first book processes the next one with no code changes.
How we operate
Four commitments.
The record is the asset
Anyone can copy a threshold rule in a weekend. Nobody can copy a scored archive after the fact, which is why the archive, the calibration and the published miss rate are what we protect.
Unknown is a published state
A confident wrong answer is what ends a data vendor. We would rather publish a move with no cause than name one we cannot stand behind.
Machines are the customer
No dashboard, no portfolio, no charts. A feature that needs a person to operate it is advertising, not product.
One door
Everything realtime goes through npayload. That gives you keys, metering, replay, consumer groups and an audit trail we did not have to build, and it keeps the stream from leaving by a side door.
The relationship
